Really Disappointed

Postby kb34 » Fri Mar 31, 2017 2:33 am

We drove to New Orleans from Alabama pretty much because of the show tonight. It was going to be my 10-year-old son's first concert. He was so excited.

He loves the Avett Brothers and was so excited to get to see them as his first concert, and in New Orleans.

I understand that people get sick, and I know they wouldn't postpone/cancel the show unless there was no way around it.

But damn, bad timing for us.

Hope Scott is ok, and wish him a speedy recovery.

It does suck. But you are right when you say they would not cancel unless it couldn't be helped. Years ago I was talking to Scott backstage at a St. Pat's day outdoor show in Columbia. The weather was getting pretty frightening looking but he told me to hold on. He said they would play if the promoter allowed them. While we stood there the promoter came up and told him there was a tornado warning and they HAD to cancel the show and clear out the area.. This was just minutes before start time. It was easy to see the band was just as unhappy about it as the crowd was.
