Yikes.
I guess this is impossible. I tried to make a list knowing that it would be extremely plastic in nature. I quickly came up with five songs. And then I thought of a sixth. I decided to replace original #3 with #6. Then I thought of a seventh and wondered if I should use that instead of #2. Then an eighth jumped to mind. You can guess where it went from there....
Then I had the same feeling I used to get when I was little and I would notice that I had slept with the same stuffed animal multiple nights in a row. Logically I knew stuffed animals had no feelings, but I couldn't stop myself from attaching guilt to choosing one over an other. I loved them all - my actions should reflect that, right? The only answer was to bury myself in a mountain of stuffed animals piled on my bed for a few nights until, one by one, they rolled over the edge and, by luck, I would wake up holding onto just one. Not because I loved it the most; it was just positioned right in that particular moment.
I applaud you all for choosing your top 5 - knowing too well they were only your top 5 for that particular moment. My guilt was too great. Now I'm going to bury myself in a mountain of Avett Brothers songs.
