First time in General Admission pit - Austin - Advice Needed

Going tonight to show at Austin City Limits live, tickets in general admission. Any advice on how early to get to venue for 8:00 show in order to have decent placement in the pit? Not looking for front row - somewhere reasonably towards the mid-front and the center. Any advice would be great - thanks!

Got there as doors opened 90 before showtime and was five rows back dead center. Oh, and concert was incredible!
